How Huffman Sports Wire collects, uses, and protects information, including website advertising data.

This Privacy Policy explains how Huffman Sports Wire ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and discloses your information when you use our website and related online services (collectively, the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
When you create an account, we collect authentication data, profile information, and credentials provided by our identity provider, Clerk.
We store your followed teams, notification preferences, seen notification IDs, prediction pool entries, saved draft sessions, and achievements to provide a personalized experience.
To access 18+ features like The Wire Room chat, we request your Date of Birth (DOB). This date is processed transiently to calculate 18+ eligibility. The raw DOB is not retained. We only store age verification status, policy acceptance timestamps, and records of room participation, chat messages, and moderation actions.
We use browser storage and caching to improve performance and may process standard network and device information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, referring pages, timestamps, and diagnostic events to operate, secure, and troubleshoot the Service.
Infolinks advertising loads only after you choose Accept ads in our advertising notice. When enabled, Infolinks and its partners may collect cookies or similar identifiers, IP address, browser and device information, approximate location, browsing activity, and ad interactions to deliver and measure advertising. Declining keeps the Infolinks script disabled. Our advertising choice controls cover Infolinks only, not other services described in this policy.
When Google advertising is enabled on our website, Google AdSense and its partners may process cookies or similar identifiers, IP address, browser information, approximate location, and interactions with advertisements to deliver, measure, and prevent fraud in advertising. Google ad serving is currently paused in the application while our consent configuration is verified.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your data to operate and maintain the Service, provide requested features (like draft simulations and prediction pools), authenticate you, manage billing, measure service performance, and support advertising on the website. We do not sell your personal data.
3. Third-Party Services
We share necessary information with the following third parties solely to operate the Service:
- Clerk: For identity verification and account management.
- Replit: For application hosting and database infrastructure.
- Whop, Stripe, and their payment partners: To process purchases, manage subscriptions and entitlements, prevent payment fraud, and provide billing support.
- Google AdSense: When enabled, to deliver and measure website advertising, apply frequency controls, and detect invalid traffic and fraud. Google ad serving is currently paused in the application while our consent configuration is verified.
- Infolinks: Only after you accept Infolinks advertising, to deliver and measure ads using cookies or similar identifiers and device, browsing, and ad-interaction data. Read Infolinks' privacy policy for its processing, partners, and privacy rights.
- Google Analytics (GA4): To measure website visits, page views, and how the site is used. Google may process page URLs, approximate location, browser and device details, and cookies or similar identifiers. We do not intentionally send account details, chat messages, or payment information as analytics events.
- SportsDataIO & Linked Source Sites: To provide sports statistics, though no personal user data is sent to these sports telemetry providers.
4. Logs and Infrastructure
Our systems generate standard technical logs for debugging and security. We proactively redact authentication credentials and cookies from our application logs; however, underlying infrastructure providers may apply their own undisclosed retention policies to raw network requests.
5. Sharing and Security
We do not sell your personal data. We only share data with service providers as outlined above, or when required by law. We implement industry-standard security measures, but no system can guarantee absolute security.
6. Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account and associated preference data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service, without arbitrary invented deadlines. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time through our account deletion page.
7. Cookies and Advertising Choices
We and our service providers may use cookies or similar browser technologies for authentication, security, preferences, and measurement. When Google ads are enabled, Google and its advertising partners may use cookies or similar identifiers for ad delivery, measurement, and fraud prevention. Google ad serving is currently paused in the application while we verify the site's consent configuration. We do not claim to have implemented a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP).
Optional Infolinks advertising stays disabled until you explicitly accept it. Your advertising choice is stored in this browser for up to 180 days. Use Advertising preferences in the footer to change it or withdraw permission; withdrawing reloads the page to stop the running advertising script. If your browser sends Global Privacy Control, Infolinks stays disabled. Withdrawal prevents further loading but does not itself delete third-party cookies already stored; your browser's cookie controls can remove them. Your browser's cookie settings and Google's ad settings let you manage browser and Google advertising preferences, but do not substitute for consent to this site where consent is required. 8. Children's Privacy & Age Restrictions
The wider Service is not directed to children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them. However, specific features such as The Wire Room chat are strictly restricted to users 18 and older. If we discover we have inadvertently collected data from underage users or that a user has bypassed age restrictions, we will delete the data and suspend the account promptly.
9. US Processing
Our Service is hosted and operated within the United States. By using the Service, you consent to the processing and transfer of your data within the United States.
10. General Non-Affiliation
Huffman Sports Wire is an independent sports platform. We are not affiliated with, authorized by, or endorsed by the NFL, NBA, MLB, NCAA, or any other league, franchise, or official organization.
11. Updates to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the Effective Date.
