NFL: Union challenges suspensions; Cardinals and Seahawks adjust
The NFL Referees Association says it will challenge the severity of two officials’ suspensions, arguing that the discipline is excessive and inconsistent with past precedent. Line judge Jeff Seeman received a two-game suspension after his interaction with Arizona tight end Trey McBride, while referee Adrian Hill received a one-game suspension after an incident involving Minnesota linebacker Eric Wilson.
Arizona left tackle Paris Johnson Jr. will miss the rest of the season after tearing his left biceps against the Giants on Sunday. His absence leaves the Cardinals with another change to manage along their offensive line.
Seattle decided not to sign veteran running back Joe Mixon to its practice squad after his physical, according to ESPN. The proposed deal had been contingent on passing that examination. ESPN also reports that the Seahawks plan to sign rookie Robert Henry Jr. from Washington’s practice squad; that report describes a planned move rather than a completed signing.
