Milwaukee is one victory from the National League Championship Series after Jackson Chourio delivered with the Brewers one out from defeat. His two-run single against Mason Miller completed a 4–3 comeback over San Diego and gave Milwaukee a 2–0 lead in the best-of-five NL Division Series.

Sunday’s postseason action then moved to Los Angeles, where Atlanta sought to even its series with the Dodgers. The Braves led Game 2 by a run after the first inning, while Monday’s schedule brings the White Sox–Guardians and Yankees–Rays series back into play.

Chourio turns the ninth inning into a Brewers celebration

San Diego entered the bottom of the ninth ahead 3–2, with Miller returning to the mound after a scoreless eighth. Milwaukee needed baserunners before it could threaten the lead, and three walks gave the Brewers their opening.

Christian Yelich and Sal Frelick reached before a second out left Milwaukee one out from defeat. Gary Sánchez then drew a pinch-hit walk to load the bases for Chourio.

The 22-year-old delivered with two strikes, sending a single through the middle to bring home the tying and winning runs. A game the Padres had been positioned to win ended with the Brewers celebrating their second victory of the series at American Family Field.

Milwaukee followed Saturday’s 3–2 Game 1 win with another one-run finish. The series now shifts to San Diego for Tuesday’s Game 3 at 9:30 p.m. ET, where the Padres must win to keep their season alive.

Los Angeles entered Game 2 with a 1–0 series advantage after winning Saturday’s opener 5–3. Blake Snell took the mound for the Dodgers, with Atlanta looking to avoid following San Diego into a two-game deficit.

The Braves scored in the top of the first when Mauricio Dubón’s two-out single brought Ronald Acuña Jr. home. MLB’s game feed showed Atlanta ahead 1–0 at the end of the first inning in the 8:24 p.m. ET check on Sunday, October 4.

That score is an early-game snapshot, not a final result or a continuously updating scoreboard. The series is scheduled to move to Atlanta for Game 3 on Tuesday at 6 p.m. ET, regardless of Sunday’s outcome.
